Junto a Paradise Lost e Anathema os My Dying Bride foram pioneiros do Doom/Death Metal britânico. Enquanto as outras duas bandas alteraram a bastante a sua sonoridade os MDB mantiveram-se quase sempre fiéis ao estilo que ajudaram a criar e este trabalho, o seu sexto, é um bom exemplo disso.
